The Massive Gap in AI Utilization

This graphic from Anthropic looks mostly accurate to me. In general, people and businesses are not utilizing AI anywhere near its full potential - understandable given AI's quick evolution, but still important to understand.
The blue area will keep growing. Right now AI has knowledge and information work largely covered. The main limitation today is AI's lack of representation in the physical world, but that is also changing. People and businesses that can responsibly fill in the blue with the red are going to be this year's and next year's winners.
This chart shows observed usage by task, not necessarily by user's job role. So a sales exec working on contract redlines may be classified as legal here.
From an industry lens - which isn't exactly what this chart shows - I think Management, Business & Finance, Math (but not Computer), Legal, and Sales are slightly over-represented, but not by much. Categories like Transportation seem under-represented, given AI's current applicability to logistics support.
