What is ChatGPT Agent Mode?

Agent Mode is a new feature (for paid users) that lets you create persistent AI agents to automate tasks that require logging in through a web browser and remembering their own past activity over time. These agents can work in the background, carry out instructions even when you’re not chatting, and act with memory across sessions. To find it, look for the 'Tools' option in your chat bubble.
Personal Example:
Let’s say you order pizza every Friday night. A Pizza Night agent can log in to your favorite pizza site at the right time, place your usual order, check for coupons, and notify you when your pizza’s on the way—no need to re-enter your info each week.
Business Example:
Imagine you're a manager who posts jobs on several job boards. With Agent Mode, you can set up a Job Application Tracker agent that logs in to each job site, checks for new applications or candidate messages every day, filters for job qualifications, and sends you a candidate list and updates a spreadsheet with key details.
Agent Mode is only available to ChatGPT Plus and higher-tier subscribers. It’s an impressive step forward, though it has some limitations, like not working with every website or certain types of logins requiring captchas or MFA.
